Timer Switch - Recess Mount

Charge plus’s is developing a NEW Recess Mount Timer Light Switch with the same features of our Surface mount range for the Transport Market.

We now have models to suit all your applications.

All models have the same Timer features so check our Manuals Page for each versions installation instructions and exact appliaction. For a Dimensional drawing click here.

The Timer Light Switch is Micro processor controlled using Nanowatt technology so it does not add to the drain on the battery that you are using to power your  Refrigerated & Dry Freight Transport or Locker lighting.

Our Timer Switches have also been fitted to Refrigerater Shipping containers.

This Timer Light Switch is a Laser Cut Stainless Steel Plate with electronics in a Plastic housing at the rear which is Silicone encapsulated for durability.

Charge plus’s  Timer Light Switch has the following Operation:

  • Single button press in the centre of the Logo to start a timed output.

There are 4 Programs Available 30, 60, 90 minutes & Constant ON.

  • The current timer programme is displayed by the “PRG” LED.
  • 1 flash            = 30 minutes
  • 2 flashes       = 60 minutes
  • 3 flashes       = 90 minutes
  • On Constant = On Constant until switched off.
  • Timer program is User changeable by holding your finger on the button when you first turn on the lights.
  • After 5 seconds of holding the button the “PRG” LED will change from the current flash rate to the next in the sequence. The longest you need to hold is 10 to 15 seconds to cycle through the 4 programs.
  • Once you have your desired time just release the button.
  • Once the Timer light switch is started there will be the “ON” LED lit to show there is output from the switch to turn on your lights.
  • The “PRG” LED also lights up and flashes out the current time program.

As the time counts down the flash count will also change.

  • If you started with 3 flashes (90 minutes) when there is only 60 minutes left the LED will flash 2 times and when there is only 30 minutes left it will flash only once.
  • When the timer enters the last 60 seconds the “PRG” light goes out and the output will cause the Fridge Van lights to flash 4 Times to make you aware the timer is running out.
  • If you press the button during the last 60 seconds you can reset the run time without the lights going out or press and hold to reprogram a shorter run time.
  • The Timer light switch also has built in over current and short circuit protection.

If the Output Load exceeds 10 amps the output is turned off (“ON” LED off) and the “ERR” LED will light up.
After 2 seconds the Timer Light switch will attempt to restart. If the overload still exists the output will be turned off again and the Overload cycle will repeat.

  • If the Output has a dead short to ground the output is turned off (“ON” LED off) and the “ERR” LED will light up. If the Short is only momentary the Timer Light switch will recover and your lights come back on. If the short remains for 60 seconds the Timer Light switch will no longer attempt to turn the lights back on.
  • The Timer Light switch also has a low voltage detection function to prevent flattening of the battery it is connected to.
  • If the Battery voltage falls below 12 volts the output is turned off and the “ERR” LED will flash.
  • Once the battery voltage exceeds 12.5 volts the output will turn back on again.
  • If you attempt to turn of the Timer Light switch with the battery voltage below 12.5 volts the output will not turn on and as above the “ERR” LED will flash.
  • During a Timer cycle the “PRG” LED is always on regardless of overload or other errors until the time cycle has expired.
  • Power Diagnostics: While the switch is connected to a 12 volt power source and not operating as a timer switch and outputting power to the lights it will blink either the “ON” LED or the “ERR” LED to indicate battery condition.
  • The “ON” LED will blink once every 5 seconds if the incoming voltage is above 12.5 volts.
  • The “ERR” LED will blink once every 5 seconds if the incoming voltage is below 12.5 volts.
